Registration

The conference will be held in a hybrid style (in-person, on-demand and metaverse). If the in-person conference is canceled due to COVID-19, IDW '22 will be turned into an online conference.

Registration Fee

The registration fee includes admission to the conference and access to the proceedings. The registration fee is the same for in-person or online participation. No refunds will be made on and after November 8, 2022.

Please note that the services and systems offered at the conference may be affected by your network environment and devices, and IDW will not take any responsibility for problems caused by them.

Registration

Registration is available only by Online Registration. If you are planning to participate on-site, please complete registration in advance and bring the printed registration badge, since there is no on-site registration available.

  • Regular paper presenter: October 5 (Wed.), 2022 (23:59 UTC-10)
  • Late-News paper presenter: November 7 (Mon.), 2022 (23:59 UTC-10)

Note: The proceedings of IDW '22 and recorded session videos will be available to the conference attendees until January 24 (Tue.), 2023 (4:59 UTC-10).

Cancellation Policy
Participants (Non-presenters)

Until November 7 at 23:59 (UTC-10), cancellation is accepted by writing to the IDW Secretariat to obtain refunds for registration. Please note that refunds will not be made for cancellations received on and after November 8, 2022, even it was due to the COVID-19 travel restriction.

Presenters

Please note no refunds will be given for cancellations by presenters. However IDW will reimburse the registration fee as a result of an acceptance of paper being canceled by the IDW program committee.

Please note that each camera-ready manuscript will be provided on the online open access archive a few months after the conference, however to those of presenters who canceled presentations will not be included on the open access archive.

  • Please check yourself whether you need a visa for your trip to Japan.
  • We suggest you immediately contact the Japanese Embassy/Consulate-General with jurisdiction over your place of residence to ask about the detailed procedure and what documents you need to prepare.
  • Requirements for quarantine and documents for visa applications, as well as vaccination certificates may differ depending on your county of departure. Please confirm the necessary requirements at your own responsibility.

Application for the necessary documents for visas

Those who need the necessary documents for visa prepared by IDW.

Please fill out the application form (Excel file) and submit it by e-mail to the secretariat (idw@idw.or.jp).
We will air mail them within a week after we receive the application. It may take two weeks or more before it reaches the applicant. IDW is not responsible for the time it takes for delivery.

Please note that this form is valid only for IDW '22 paid registrants.
