Instructions for Attendees

The 28th International Display Workshops (IDW ’21) will be held between December 1st (Wednesday) and 3rd (Friday). All the proceedings, lightning talk videos will be open to the conference attendees from 8:00 AM (JST) on December 1, 2021. The presentation materials and also the VOD, recorded session videos will be available to attendees until January 24, 2022.

(1) Oral Sessions

Oral sessions will be live sessions with pre-recorded presentation videos and live Q&As using Zoom Webinar. Immediately after the allotted session, a Zoom breakout room will be assigned to each presenter for an "Extended Live Q&A" where the presenter and attendees can communicate with each other.

(2) Lightning Talk Sessions

Pre-recorded presentation videos will be open to the conference attendees as soon as the conference begins. In addition, the attendees can discuss with presenters via the online text communication tool. The core time of text Q&A is set for Thursday, December 2, 17:00-19:00.

Enhanced Discussion

Several presenters will show their additional presentation slides and videos of their concept, prototypes and products related to their paper in Zoom breakout rooms on Thursday, December 2, 17:00-19:00.

All sessions will be recorded and available for conference attendees until January 24, 2022.
Note: Extended live Q&A and enhanced discussions will not be recorded.

Access to Virtual Conference

All the Zoom webinar and lightning talk video links will be available on the online program site (confit).
After you have registered for the conference, you will receive an email titled "[idw2021] Notice of login information for confit online program". There are a Log-in ID and Password. Should you lose your Password, you may re-set and reissue the Password from "Forgot password?”
Please install Zoom in advance.

Oral Session

  • Click on the session link in the online program (confit). If you are joining before the webinar starts, please wait until the host starts the webinar.
  • The webinar will open with the recording.
  • Live Q&A in Sessions
    • Attendees can write questions in the Q&A box on the Zoom webinar.
    • The session chair will select questions and ask presenters to answer.
  • Extended Live Q&A using Zoom breakout rooms will be held immediately after the allotted session.

Lightning Talk Session

  • Attendees can discuss with a presenter using the online text communication tool on the online program site (confit) not only during the lightning talk sessions but also anytime throughout IDW '21.
  • Join in the lightning talk session through the online text communication tool on 17:00-19:00 (JST), December 2.
